Landscape
The town of La Valle (La Val) in Alta Badia extends across a slope, surrounded by woods at the foothills of the well-known plateau of the "Armentara" and the "Sasso Croce".These factors make La Valle the ideal place to spend a tranquil and relaxing vacation in constant contact with nature in its most honest form.
In the immediate area are two stupendous natural parks: the "Fanes - Sennes - Braies" and the "Puez - Oedle".
Thanks to its ideal geographic location, the town of La Valle is one of the main entrances to the "Fanes - Sennes - Braies" natural park, becoming therefore an optimal departure point for innumerable excursions, in both summer and winter.
The "Fanes - Sennes - Braies" park, with its expanse of 25,680 hectares, is one of Alto Adige's largest parks. But its notoriety is essentially due to the innumerable legends of the "Regno dei Monti Pallidi", according to the legend a territory populated by the mysterious people of the Fanes. And it is here that we find "Il Parlamento delle marmotte" (The Marmot Parliament), constellation of uniquely-formed and particular mountains, which, also according to the legend, became with its rifugio dei Nagi caves, the last survivors of the people of the Fanes.
Not far from the fairly-tale "Fanes - Sennes - Braies" national park extends that of the "Puez - Geisler", with a surface of 10,196 hectares. Its territory touches the "Passo delle erbe" to the north, reaching "Passo gardena" to the south, to the west is part of the Val Badia (Longiarú and Antermoia) reaching Val di Funes and Val Gardena to the east.
The "Puez - Geisler" offers the possibility of admiring the Dolomites in their forms unique to the world.
