With a maximum slope of 69%, the Gran Risa is considered one of the toughest tracks in the Ski World Cup; here the big ski stars have celebrated their successes, from Ingemar Stenmark and Alberto Tomba to Ted Ligety and Marcel Hirscher. SELLARONDA SKI MARATHON

One of the most demanding ski touring races in the Alps

The Sellaronda Ski Marathon is an international ski touring race which takes participants around the Sella massif through the night without the use of any lifts. The athletes, equipped with climbing skins, helmets and headlamps, each start in teams of two and have to conquer a distance of 42 km and 2,700 vertical metres. The route passes through the four Dolomite passes, Campolongo Pass, Pordoijoch, Sellajoch and Gardena Pass, and connects the towns of Corvara, Arabba, Canazei and Selva: a challenge which every one of the 1,200 Alpine ski racers has to face.
