LA VALLE

„Hiking Specialist“ and cradle of Ladin culture

La Val, a place of incomparable beauty surrounded by pristine forest and sloping meadows, became the first certified hiking village in South Tyrol in 2015. It has many fascinating destinations to visit in every season, including the natural habitats of the Rit and the Armentara meadows with their numerous orchid species, larch meadows and pine forests. The typical farms with their window-boxes and flowering gardens and the ancient buildings in Alt-Wengen bear witness to centuries-old traditions and make it possible to experience everyday peasant life up close.
